Concave convex lens, also known as crescent lens, can reduce the spherical aberration and produce the minimum straight incident light focus. It is based on the relative curvature of the two surfaces. A crescent lens can be a positive lens or a negative lens. The center of a negative meniscus lens is thinner than its periphery, while the center of a positive meniscus lens is thicker than its periphery.
The Meniscus Lens is a special type of lens that consists of a convex surface on one side (outward curvature) and a concave surface on the other side (inward curvature), forming a crescent shaped lens as a whole, hence its name.
