The so-called narrowband filter is a subdivision of the bandpass filter, and its definition is the same as that of the bandpass filter. This type of filter allows light signals to pass through a specific frequency band, while blocking light signals on both sides that deviate from this band. The passband of a narrowband filter is relatively narrow, generally less than 5% of the center wavelength value.
The main function of narrowband filters is to allow specific wavelengths of light to pass through and reflect (or attenuate) other wavelengths of light as optical components. The half wave width is usually controlled at 20nm or less, and there are ultraviolet, visible, near-infrared, near-infrared wavelengths, and far-infrared bands according to the wavelength range.
