Definition
Short wave pass filters are transparent in the short wave direction and cut off in the long wave direction within a specific wavelength range, serving to isolate long waves. Also known as attenuation film, it is used to prevent strong light sources from damaging the sensor or optical components of the camera, and can absorb or reflect partially untransmitted light, thereby uniformly reducing a portion of the transmittance spectrum to a certain extent.
Characteristic
It has the characteristics of high transmittance, high cut-off depth, and a large background light density band. Generally, the center wavelength is located at half the peak transmittance, and it has the function of "short wave passing, long wave cutoff".
Spectral transmission range
The main wavelength range that passes through is visible light and ultraviolet light, which has the function of shielding ultraviolet light (sometimes specifically referring to shielding light above the infrared band, also known as infrared cut-off filter, but short wave pass filter is not equivalent to infrared cut-off filter).
Application area
Optical beauty: When a specific frequency band is within the beauty band of the beauty device, it can be applied to certain household beauty devices with specific functions.
Fluorescence analysis: When a specific wavelength band is located in the fluorescence emission band, it can be used to screen and limit the emission wavelength to meet the emission wavelength requirements, and used in conjunction with an excitation filter.
Raman spectroscopy application: In Raman spectroscopy analysis, short wave pass filters help separate excitation light and scattered light, improving the signal-to-noise ratio of the spectrum.
Spectral grouping application: It can be used to group light of different wavelengths for subsequent spectral analysis or processing.
Imaging optical system: It can be used in imaging optical systems to eliminate interference light outside the available frequency band, improve imaging clarity and system sensitivity.
Machine vision system: helps enhance the contrast between light and dark in camera captured objects, improve the system's resolution, and make observed features clearer.
Fiber optic lighting: can be used to adjust the wavelength range of light to achieve specific lighting effects.
Surveillance camera: The common IR-CUT dual filter is a combination of a full spectrum filter and an infrared cut-off filter, which can effectively filter out the interference of infrared light on CCD or CMOS color reproduction, and restore the true color.
